A.L.C.Y.  February 20, 2010 Minutes

The meeting was opened by President James Sites at 5:00 p.m.
James passed out an overview of the Website and it was discussed by the members present what to do with it.  There were 10 people present for the meeting.
James then passed around a copy of the Newly instated By-Laws for the A.L.C.Y. Homebrew Club and all members present signed it into effect.

The Secretary position is still open for the 2010 year. Please consider taking the position if you have 10 minutes a month to type up minutes from the meetings just like these.

A discussion was held about Beer and Mead competitions; local and national, how to enter, what the score sheets look like, etc.
Brewing beer to styles and knowing which style best suits your brew.

Beers that were tasted and reviewed.

Arcadia Ales Cocoa Loco
Young's Luxury Double Chocolate Stout

Daniel Kulick's Double Dark Chocolate Bar Bock
Blending was discussed and Lindeman's Frambois was mixed with the Double Dark Chocolate Bar Bock for an example
Jim's Double bock and Cherry bock were tasted again since last meeting

Jeff's Citra Pale Ale
Shawn's IPA
James' Chocolate, honey, coffee beer

The profiles for March's meeting were agreed to be Hoppy Beers. Bring a homebrew version of a hoppy beer if you have one. Bob Domiano is bringing the commercial examples.
Ben agreed to bring hotdogs, kolbassi ,and homemade sour kraut for the March meeting.

The March meeting has been moved to the 27th of March by unanimous vote by members present. Mark your calendars oppropriately.
Dan Kulick provided Soft Pretzels for the meeting with a variety of dips.  They were enjoyed by all.
The Big Brew Sessions were discussed regarding introducing a format like Iron Brewer. Where a secret ingredient will be agreed upon and the brews made from the Big Brew will be more cutting edge and exotic.
The meeting was wrapped up about 8:30p.m.
